What to expect
- Transparency is preserved. WebP supports alpha channels, so transparent PNGs stay transparent.
- EXIF and other metadata are not preserved during conversion.
- PNG is lossless. Converting to lossy WebP applies compression that discards some detail. Use lossless mode if you need pixel-perfect output.
- Animated PNGs (APNG) are not supported — only the first frame is converted.
